At Kamal’s Day Spa, we use the ND YAG 1064 hair removal laser. It is great for skin types 3,4,5, and 6 and for those with thicker hair. Those with finer hair may also use this laser however, it works faster for thicker hair types. Along with its rejuvenating qualities, it enhances and increases skin elasticity and collagen, ultimately tightening pores. Because shorter and longer wavelengths are used, this laser is most effective for those with brown and black hair. It does not deliver effective results for those with blonde or gray hair.

Treatment Time:

The treatment time may vary according to skin type and hair length. It generally takes 7-8 treatments to permanently remove hair from the face and 5-6 treatments for the body. A touch up may be required occasionally. 

This laser is very safe, effective, and painless as a cooling system is used concurrently. This laser is great for those with eczema, psoriasis, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and acne-prone skin as it does not cause redness and scarring. Those with tanned skin may also use this laser as long as sunscreen is regularly applied.

Pre-care:

If retinol is part of your skincare routine, you must avoid using it one week prior to your laser appointment. 

Aftercare:

To take care of your skin after your treatment, avoid direct sunlight for 48 hours, chlorine, and chemicals on the skin. Laser appointments should be scheduled every 4-6 weeks between each treatment.
